The Dodge Bros story begins in 1630, but we’ve covered the early years in part 1. A light recap precedes part 2 and part 3 which brings us to the current Fiat marriage in this edition of KarKix. Mark Roman interviews Chris Wilkins of Viperparts.com and we learn, from a fascinating personal story, how to gather parts for a booming internet enterprise. Ellis Martin brings us two very, very rare automobiles and their owners story. First a 1948 Bentley Mark VI Mallalieu Special, one of two in the USA. Next a Shelby Series 1. This was a very special car, built from the ground up, designed by and built by Carrol Shelby’s team. Approximately 250 are known to exist. PLUS Bob Lange’s Chicago Auto Show Recap. Bob gets misty over his old z car and lusts for Lexus’ baby LF-A the LF-LC concept!

KarKix

Saturday at 7 AM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Variety Channel

KarKix is a labor of love. A small posse of car nuts hope to engage you for a short while in the automotive world. While KarKix covers automotive news and events, the focus is on classics, hotrods, sports cars, and trucks, maybe even a motorcycle. KarKix invites you to participate too, right now, via Facebook and Twitter. The goal is to put interesting automotive folks at your beckoned call. We’ll do our best to entertain and inform. You’ll hear from people you know, like the guys at Barrett-Jackson or Gary Patterson at Shelby American, Barry McGuire at Car Crazy, and even Hot Rod editor and Speed channel regular Steve Magnate, and many more. The shows I hope you’ll find particularly interesting are the shows with interviews of folks you may NOT know. These are the folks who are making advances, changes, progressing the hobby, and doing good things that we hope you find interesting. Join us Saturdays at 7 AM Pacific Time on the VoiceAmerica Variety Channel.

Bob Lange

Bob Lange has been a broadcaster since 1973, including ABC radio in Washington, DC. In the 80’s he produced ads for GMC Trucks national retail ad agency and began precision driving for GM Dealer Group ads, and BF Goodrich Tire commercials. Collecting, restoring, racing, and enjoying car events, and even old pickups has kept him going.

Bob Says “My mom swears my first words were “Car-Car”, I was a obsessed collector of Matchbox and Corgis as a kid, and as a teen I raced the third fastest sprint cart in Ohio, unfortunately I was not as fast as it was. I could ID any car from the 50s and 60s at night by taillight signature. Yes, I was a young car nut. I convinced my folks that mini bikes, Hondas, and an old ‘57 Chevy were not too much for a 13 year old to work on. In high school, I began to drag race motorcycles, drove a 5 ton Ford for summer money, cruised in a Manx dune buggy. After college, SCCA solo II racing and opening a restoration shop were just steps toward 67 Shelby ownership and producing ads for GM. Working in radio, TV and tele-production provided the income to feed my car fix. 55 not so average cars and one patient car loving wife later, I am happy to be here with you on Voice America Variety, to take it to the next level. I’m not going to worry about ruffled feathers. I’m a Ford fan, but love Corvettes too! Japan, Italy, I love 'em all! My email is bob@karkix.com and I’m on Facebook /KarKix so you can always get involved with the show.
